Denver – With the announcement Republican Gubernatorial candidate Walker Stapleton has named Lang Sias as his choice for Lieutenant Governor, NARAL Pro-Choice Colorado Executive Director Karen Middleton issued the following statement:

“Lang Sias got an F on our most recent legislative scorecard, and has a history of opposing reproductive rights for Coloradans. Anti-choice Walker Stapleton naming anti-choice Lang Sias means the Republican ticket is 100% anti-choice and stands in opposition to Colorado voters and values.

At a time when the threat to Roe v. Wade is very real, it will be up to the states to protect abortion rights. Walker Stapleton has clearly stated he will not do that, and picking Lang Sias reaffirms that statement.

Colorado was the first state to allow safe, legal abortion. The 2018 Republican gubernatorial ticket contradicts our longstanding history of supporting a woman’s right to choose at a time when it matters most.”

NARAL Pro-Choice Colorado Foundation’s mission is to support and protect, as a fundamental right and value, a woman’s freedom to make personal decisions regarding reproductive health care.

NARAL Pro-Choice Colorado’s mission is to develop and sustain a statewide constituency that used the political process to guarantee every woman the right to make personal decisions regarding reproductive health care.
